If God wants you to go to Africa all the pieces will come together. Even though I have some fears, I would never stand in your way and I will be your biggest cheerleader. I have seen God working in your life for the last few months. You have a closer relationship with Him and I believe that He is leading you in this. I admire your willingness to follow Him and go to a place alone that may be unsafe. I love you. Mom

You do not have to thank me for what I do for you. I love to show you how much I love you and nothing makes me happier than when I see a smile on your face. The party was as much for me as for you. Like you, when I looked over that room and saw all the people that mean so much to me, I had tears come to my eyes. I had a great speech that I had worked on for weeks but when the time came could not say one word. Probably it was for the best. You know how sentimental I can get. I think everyone in that room saw how much I love you without saying a word. I know too that your Dad was there and was happy that we had so many people that cared about us. I do think that we can call the party a success and I hope that everyone enjoyed themselves as much as you and I. As for the lunch with you and Jason, I cannot tell you what that meant to me. To have the three of us together without a horrible situation happening was one of the best days I have spent in a long time (I will have to say getting to spend the day with Kelsey last week is high up there too but it could never top spending time with my children). Actually, last week I think it would be safe to say was the best week I have had in many years. So many things could have gone wrong but God was good. He gave me such a beautiful week and I think you feel the same. I love you!

Wow! You continue to amaze me every day of my life. I am so thankful that your relationship with God is growing and you are finding that He will provide, protect, and guide you in all things. It may not be an easy path but with pain and trials we are refined to the person God would have us be. Even though I think that you are perfect, you do struggle sometimes with being too independent and way too stubborn for your own good. You could allow people to help you sometime without making you feel any less capable. There is nothing wrong in needing help sometime. I have learned this just in the last five years and can say that it has changed my life completely for the better. Yes I have had hurts and disappointments and sometimes have not handled it very well but I am still going to open my heart to any opportunity that God leads me too. I can promise you that any hurts and disappointments that may come from this will be small compared to never opening up your heart and life to the ones you love and care for. As your birthday draws near, I feel so blessed that God brought you into my life and entrusted and equipped me to raise you into the wonderful young woman that you are. I know that pride is a sin but I am very proud of you. I appreciate how much you love me and how you always make sure that I am happy and taken care of. Sometimes letting it take up too much of your life. I can see inside that shell and I know that there is a very caring and generous woman in there. Come out and see what God will bring your way! I love you very much.
