an incredible person

I’ve just had a wonderful, long weekend that started with the 4th of July. A couple of friends and me went to the lake for some fun and fireworks. We drove down Tuesday night, stayed up until 3:30 in the morning and then spent Wednesday on the lake.

It was a good day with two great friends. I appreciate their friendship so much. It is having friendships like these that make life easier. No matter how hard things get, I can count on these two. I am fortunate to have several other friendships that I feel the same way about. Just thinking about all of them I realize how blessed I am.

The rest of the weekend, was spent cleaning around my house and relaxing a little. I made a point to visit my grandmother one day during my time off and then I helped my mother with some things around her house another day.

I tell you, my mother is one incredible human being. The longer I live, the more I appreciate everything about her. She has a kind, generous heart and more wisdom than I will ever possess. She will give everything she has and ask for nothing in return. And goodness knows she doesn’t ever want to be a burden on anyone. Just knowing that I have her love and support to back me up everyday provides so much security and comfort to me. I can talk with her about anything and she will always give a listening ear and, if needed, some gentle guidance. She is smart and level-headed, slow to anger, and has more love in her heart than anyone I have ever met. She is a strong, faithful woman. She has overcome many obstacles in her life and amazingly has always come out on the other side of them a stronger, more loving person. I admire her, for everything that she is, and for everything that she has been through.
